The reason I was really nervous though is that it&amp;#8217;s the first time I have run that far in nearly a year. The last time I ran that far was as part of a half marathon that I completely blew out on :(&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The good news is that it went really well. I&amp;#8217;ve been doing heart rate based training &amp;amp; I stuck to my target rate nearly the whole way. I also got all the way through without any walk breaks - the first time I have done that over that distance since about 2008! I&amp;#8217;m still really slow compared to what I used to be but I am getting quicker (0:15 per km in about 3 weeks) and I still have 5 weeks until my test half marathon &amp;amp; over 3 months until my target half so I&amp;#8217;m feeling confident. Mushroom &amp;amp; spinach goodness on the inside with a fresh basil pesto sauce on the outside - tasty does not even start to describe it. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We really should have taken photos but we were far too keen to get all that pasta goodness into our mouths!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m so keen to try out more filling combinations that I&amp;#8217;m going to head to the local bulk store this week &amp;amp; get some proper pasta making flour. &lt;p&gt;50 benchpress (10kg)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;50 crunches (legs up with 1kg medicine ball)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;First time doing this kind of workout in a while &amp;amp; I forgot how sweaty &amp;amp; out of breath you get - I loved it! &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Stretch 1&lt;/strong&gt; - Try not to let the front knee come beyond the toes. Having your toes on your back leg curled under will make it slightly easier for beginners.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Stretch 2&lt;/strong&gt; - Stand up with your legs apart and just get as low as you can go!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Stretch 3&lt;/strong&gt; - Sit back on one leg (so your foot is under your bum) with the other leg straight in front, and bend over your front leg as far as you can.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Stretch 4&lt;/strong&gt; - One leg bent in front and the other directly behind. This yoga pose is called One Legged Pigeon&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Stretch 5&lt;/strong&gt; - Yoga mermaid pose, don’t stress if you can’t do this straight away, it’s a big quad stretcher, don’t force this - it’ll come with time!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Do all stretches on both legs!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span&gt;Do these AFTER you are warmed up (I suggest cardio) otherwise you may hurt yourself.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;span&gt;Practise every day with one day rest and try to hold each pose for at least 30 seconds.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;span&gt;It took me 1.5 months to get my right split and 2 months to get my left. Everyone is different so you could need more or less time than I did, but be patient!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;span&gt;LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!! If your muscles are really hurting, light stretching only! Don’t force it!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
