Fitness Goals 2013
I know it’s February already & a bit late for the whole new years resolution thing but this morning at the gym I was thinking about what I want to achieve this year. It’s taken me until now to get into a routine that I am happy with and now that I’ve done that I feel like I can set some goals.
Firstly I want to be able to do a pull up - queue lots of upper body work & time on the assisted pull up machine at the gym.
Secondly I want to develop a decent aerobic base. It has come to my attention that I have been running at a pace that is too fast to actually be of much aerobic benefit so as of a few weeks ago I have slowed right down & am currently waiting to see some improvement. My aim is to improve my ‘aerobic pace’ from 7.5km/hr to 9.5km/h. I’m not sure how possible that is in a year, or maybe it’s too easy but either way I will be happy if I achieve it.
Thirdly…actually I don’t really have a third one although I would like to work on my squat & deadlift. Perhaps an 80kg squat (currently 50kg) and a 50kg deadlift (currently 25kg) for 3x15reps.
I’m happy with those for now but I will try and remember to reassess half way through the year.
